Today, 12th March 2025, marks the inaugural School Archives Day, and at St George's, we're proud to house a Nationally significant archive that chronicles not only our school's history but also the evolution of girls' education from 1867 to the present day.
This year brings exciting changes as our archive relocates to the main school building, offering expanded space, improved accessibility, and room for future growth. This move represents our commitment to preserving St George's rich history for generations to come.
Our archive is a living collection that must continue to capture each chapter of our school's journey.
We're seeking contributions from our entire community—students, parents, teachers, and you, our treasured Old Girls—to help future generations understand what St George's was like during these times. Imagine your grandchildren exploring the archive in 50 or 100 years, discovering your experiences and connecting with their educational heritage.
We welcome:
If you have family members who attended St George's—whether your mother, aunt, or grandmother—we especially encourage their contributions to ensure our archive fully reflects all eras of our school's history. Your contributions today will become the treasured historical resources of tomorrow.
