Cultivating Philanthropy: The Next Generation of Change-Makers

From student fundraisers to global changemakers, St George's nurtures a lifelong commitment to giving back.

Our Lower 5s recent Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) final demonstrated how early exposure to charitable giving at St George's shapes future philanthropists. Six student-led teams advocated passionately for local charities, with the winning group securing £3,000 for The Breakfast Bothy, an Edinburgh charity that offers breakfasts at the Meadows for people experiencing homelessness and food poverty.

This tradition of giving back continues to flourish within our Alumnae community as well. We remember Flora Munro's moving address last year regarding her work with Education for All Morocco, particularly poignant in the wake of the devastating earthquake.

We take immense pride in the many ways our former pupils contribute to society. Are you making waves in the philanthropic sector? We would be delighted to hear about your charitable work and potentially feature your story. Your experiences could inspire current pupils and fellow Alumnae alike.

Do share your story with us at foundation@stge.org.uk. Whether you're spearheading a charitable initiative or contributing to a worthy cause, we're keen to amplify your impact.
