Sunshine, memories & fond farewells at our Lansdowne Legacy Party! Archives sparked nostalgia, the choir performed beautifully & we all celebrated the legacy of Lansdowne!

School News

We were lucky to have excellent weather for the Lansdowne Legacy Party, allowing guests to enjoy the sunshine throughout the afternoon. The archives display drew considerable interest from our entire school community, with many spending time looking through photographs, programmes, and documents from previous decades.

The Middle School Choir performed several pieces, including the old school song, which was particularly appreciated by visitors who remembered it! It was great to see former staff and Alumnae in particular returning for this fond farewell.

Current pupils made the most of their final opportunities to explore the buildings (and out-of-bound areas!), while the traditional games, silent disco, and ice cream van kept everyone entertained. The dinosaur bouncy castle was popular with younger visitors, and many guests took the opportunity to purchase St George's merchandise.

Digital Archives Project

The positive response to our archives display has prompted us to expand our digital collection. We're planning the next phase of digitisation and would welcome suggestions about which materials from your time at St George's should be prioritised - school magazines, house photographs, programmes, or other items you'd like to see preserved. Let us know by emailing foundation@stge.org.uk.

The event provided a fitting send-off for the Lower School and old boarding house, with excellent attendance from across the school community. If you were able to make it, hank you for coming and we look forward to seeing you at one of upcoming events soon!
