Over October half term, students in years U5, L6 and U6 embarked on an exciting trip to Andalucía, immersing themselves in the vibrant culture and rich history of southern Spain. These experiences allowed them to bring their classroom learning to life, exploring language and history first-hand.
The group's experiences in Andalucía were transformative. Alongside Spanish lessons, they visited the incredible Alhambra Palace, discovering its fascinating history. The students also enjoyed a tapas tasting, a lively Flamenco dancing class and exploring the Alcaicería. By night, they were enchanted by the sight of the Alhambra lit up against the evening sky.
In Granada, the students continued their immersion, taking part in more Spanish language lessons and enjoying a tour of the Albaicín, before visiting a traditional tetería to soak up the local atmosphere.
These formative trips instil a profound appreciation for our global community. St George's girls' passion for international engagement makes a positive impact both during their time in school and well beyond.
As Alumnae, you are examples of how school trips shape brilliant global citizens. Time and again, we hear from our Old Girls about the lasting influence of these immersive experiences.
Whether exploring Andalucía or forging deep connections more locally, our students gain invaluable skills - cultural awareness, language proficiency, independence. These are qualities our Alumnae carry with them long after they have left the classrooms of St G's.
We would love to hear from our Alumnae - do you have fond memories of school trips at St G's? Perhaps you still have photos or stories from your adventures that you'd like to share. If so, please email us at foundation@stge.org.uk and be part of keeping these special moments alive for future generations!
