Week 6 ideas and activities*

1.  Food & Cooking
Thank you to Dr Judith McClure (former Head) for letting us know of another delivery service:
Valvona & Crolla, Edinburgh - online deliveries of food & wine.  Francesca Contini (MD) is a former pupil of St George's.

Some good recipe ideas here including veggie and side dishes if you're looking to make use of some of the tins you've found in the back of your cupboard.  The crab fried rice is delicious and just as tasty with tuna, which you're more likely to have.

2.  Staying Active
Whether you're working from home or spending more time than usual indoors, you might find yourself randomly opening the fridge or the biscuit tin (please say it's not just me....!).  Here are a couple of ideas for staying active which you might find useful, and which can be done indoors.

MacMillan Cancer 7 day Challenge - join up for a challenge you can do solo, as a family or even remotely with friends or family.

Our very own St George's PE department has some great ideas for multi-sports and adaptations:

3.  Supporting local businesses
Thank you to alumna Michelle Robertson for alerting us to the Edinburgh Lockdown Economy, a fantastic resource for information on local independent businesses offering services and activities during lockdown.

Keep Edinburgh Thriving:  Is there anyone you'd like to thank for doing something amazing?  Looking for ideas for a birthday or 'thinking of you' present while you can't get out shopping?  Gift boxes are available from £39, containing a selection of high quality goods from local businesses.

We're aware that the ideas and recommendations we're making are very Edinburgh-centric.  This is a reflection of our local knowledge, and the feedback that we've been getting.  We're well aware that St George's is a global community, so please do share any tips wherever you are in the world!  Nevertheless, we hope that this gives you some more ideas for keeping occupied.

Please remember as always we have offers of help from among the Community - if anybody needs assistance with shopping etc, please get in touch and we can try to link you up.

With all best wishes from the St George's Foundation Office.
