Alumnae News |
Yesterday, St George's welcomed back familiar faces as recent leavers returned. These proud Alumnae came back not just to reminisce, but to offer invaluable guidance to our current students about University life.
They emphasised the importance of campus visits. "Don't just go once," they advised. "Be there when students are there, and go a few times if you're unsure. And don't be disheartened if you don't enjoy the first Open Day – sometimes it takes time to find the right fit."
For those uncertain about their course of study, they shared their experiences. "Tools like Unifrog really helped me explore my options," "Remember, it's okay to change your mind. Some of us decided to do a foundation year for their art degree, and they're loving it!"
When discussing university highlights, one of the Alumnae spoke about the importance of getting involved. "It's not just about academics," she explained. "Getting involved in clubs and socialising really makes the experience. I've met people from all over the world and grown so much as a person."
It is was clear that the words of these recent Alumnae carried special weight for the Sixth Formers feeling anxious about this phase of their academic journey. Their parting advice? "Immerse yourself in student life, try new things, and enjoy the journey," they chorused.
With such guidance, our students are well-prepared for their next big step.
