At 81 years old, Anne Bolam (née Peterkin) accomplished something remarkable - publishing her first book in 2019. Though Anne began writing years earlier in 2016, she put the project on hold when her husband grew seriously ill. However, Anne picked up her pen again after he passed, determined to finish telling her story.

The book, Don't Drop it Nurse, recounts Anne's experiences working as a nurse in the 1960s at the request of her family. As a St G's OGs (along with her sister, mother and four aunts), Anne provides an inside look at what it was like caring for patients during that era.

Anne's passion for writing only grew stronger after finishing her first book. Though she suffered a stroke that initially inhibited her progress, Anne persevered despite ongoing vision difficulties to complete her second book.

Now, Anne stays active in her daily life by attending church, playing piano, and spending quality time with loved ones and her beloved dogs. Through determination and commitment to her craft, Anne overcame major health obstacles to write not one but two inspirational memoirs. At her age, Anne exemplifies that it's never too late to pursue your dreams.

Her books can be purchased for £5.99 through www.pegasuspublishers.com
