Sophie Renton, Class of 2008

At St George's, Sophie studied an array of creative subjects like English, Drama, Classics, Biology and Art. Actively involved in theatre productions, sports and music.

She went on to study Ancient History/Archaeology at St Andrews and earn a teaching degree from Edinburgh University. Her varied career path has included working as an archaeologist in Romania through the Grampus Heritage exchange, a cruise ship shore excursions assistant visiting Mediterranean sites, and teaching roles in Midlothian, Edinburgh, London and now as Assistant Head at Dollar Academy.

A highlight was winning dance awards at the 2011 World Championships. She credits St George's for nurturing her interests and providing pre-professional experiences.
