Emma Welsh

Emma Welsh (née Currie): actress turned theatre company founder and corporate trainer in leadership, culture.

Emma Welsh (née Currie) was a St George's student from 1976-1981. After studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, she pursued an acting career with roles in popular shows like The Bill, Taggart, and River City. In 1996, Emma founded her own theatre company Acting Up. Her entrepreneurial spirit also led her to conduct corporate workshops on topics like Health & Safety, Wellbeing, Leadership and organizational culture.

Emma additionally runs train-the-trainer sessions, equipping teams with valuable skills. Her diverse experiences showcase her multi-talented abilities honed during her time at St George's. Emma has been married to Irvine Welsh since August 10, 2022.
